I do like a hvy'r cloth in the main but the KAPPA CUT or even the MITRE
in Dacron add weight fast with their seams.

That's true if you stick with the same weight cloth but with a triradial you
can drop down a "size" I bought a new triradial main last summer which uses a
new square weave Dacron cloth and it's lighter than my old cross cut.
