Nutsy, is 41yrs old and still hasn't sailed out of sight of LAND yet.
Don't worry about anchoring

Don't know if BS actually wants to sail out, he has owned several boats
before the C&C came along, none of those boats went anywhere. I still think
his best chance of going offshore is in one of these-

Seriously, no troll intended.

Bobsprit's wife could buy him a 55' Tayana and she still wouldn't give him
permission to take it out of Long Island Sound.

Or just ease the sails to flatten the boat, lose a little speed, but it
makes the cook happy, which might make for a better culinary experience.

Default Real Sailing Question :-)

Talking of anchroing in deep water, there is such a thing as a sea
anchor. It's like a parachute for water.

I was just wondering, from reading Bobsprit's posts on mooring his wife's
sailboat to cook dinner; how you would anchor or moor your sailboat in the
Marianas Trench? That would take over ~36,000 feet of chain. Where would
you store that much chain along with the anchor? I'm worried that if
Bobsprit didn't have enough chain to anchor, he might starve to death.
Heheheee.
