As a first order calculation, one can assume the wetted area goes as the
2/3 power of the displacement volume (D). (D is weight in pounds divided by 64). It is the friction of this wetted area that the sail must compensate for. Thus on a racing yacht we might have A/D^2/3 ~ 22, a cruiser ~12. You boat would be ~7 and very slow except in high winds. These figues can be adjusted for form by the designer.
