Where's the proper place to fly a Jolly Roger? The masthead? And, am I right in thinking that it shouldn't be flown when in port? I hate to be a killjoy .... BUT ... ... There is an old law on the statute books that says that it is every sailor's duty to sink any vessel that is flying the Jolly Roger. I believe that, during WWII, British submarines used the Jolly Roger as their flag or colours, with variations on the theme for each boat. If I was on port tack, and I had a collision with a boat that was on starboard tack flying a jolly Roger, then I would claim that I had done it on purpose. I wouldn't have anything to lose, would I? It is waaaaay more fun that a Jolly Roger. Nah, doesn't have the instant recognition factor. :-) -- Wally www.makearatherlonglinkthattakesyounowhere.com Things are always clearer in the cold, post-upload light. |
