Bob... Hail, "Binary Bill" on 16 and switch to 69 [or what ever free
channel suits].... that's the channel you should be monitoring [or is it channel 9 down there?]... at any rate that's the beauty of VHF. If you're there and your VHF works Bill will hear and confirm your call. Yup, and since my radio has ilegal high power he won't be able to claim otherwise! I'll hail billy jane on Channel 9. The previous owner had it "tuned." It sure sounds loud and clear to everyone who hears it, especially compared to my newer radio. RB |

Maybe you meant 3.8 watts??? I think it's 5 or 6 watts for a handheld and 25 for a base type unit. RB |
