One foot wider beam does add quite a bit of volume. YOU know nothing about
boats! LOL..... You dufas. I told you that the extra foot is at deck level which I guess would give you more room to sway your head back and forth to music. The J has LESS beam at the waterline which is where you get "room" dummy. You know nothing about boats. I've told you before the J30 is underpowered and that unballanced rudder makes it drive like a school bus. Also when the wind is blowing over 20 you need a gorilla to stear the thing. It's a fine one design however and a fun class to be in if you don't mind spending money to go slow but stay ahead of other slow 30 footers. Since it's the only performance boat you claim to have ever sailed on I assume that's why you think it's a screamer. Now go cut down that ugly stupid looking stern ladder.
