Hey Donal
"Capt. Mooron" wrote in message ... Yes... I've never seen a fin keeler that would allow the helm to be left unlashed or unstopped and make way upwind with the helm free. It won't happen... not in a month of Sundays. I could care less what trim you claimed to have.... it will round up or fall off..... but it will not make ground to the waypoint. Yon can steer Setanta by constantly trimming the sails. Last year I sailed her for 45 minutes with the tiller left free. The wind was about 10 kts and dropping. At the end we ended up pointing almost dead downwind, and I had to use the tiller at that point. Regards Donal -- |
Hey Donal
Yes... I've never seen a fin keeler that would allow the helm to be left
unlashed or unstopped and make way upwind with the helm free. Then you haven't seen a well sailed boat. When Ghost or Alien were "in the groove" they tend to stay there. Of course this is less likely in chop and heavy gusts, but it can be done with ease on the LIS. RB |
Hey Donal
Unfortunately, no pics of your wife's boat actually sailing.
Are you sure, Skitchy? You may want to check again! You have no boat. RB |
Hey Donal
but most of us are able to convey the truth without relying on such
tangibles. I say you convey NADA. You talk and talk, but are one of the few who can't and won't produce a pic of your boat. There's really only one conclusion. You don't own one. RB |
Hey Donal
If you failed to explain it properly to begin with YOU are the only one
who'll look stupid! Now go ahead and make something up!!! No need to. Uh huh!!! Bwahahahahaha! RB |
Hey Donal
Dennis was talking about the America's Cup catamaran with a winged mast.
Dennis wasn't talking about anything, you dopey tool! Bwahahahahaha! So easy! RB |
Hey Donal
Jax never produced a photo or confirmation he owned a boat.... at least to
the group. Odd since he wasn't shy about posing for the camera. Hey Donal
I'll have to see proof of this since all my experience with many fin keelers
of various sizes would indicate it is impossible upwind. Since you are familiar and claim to be proficient at this task.... combined with your excellent photography skills, equipment , opportunity and capability to post the proof... I ask that you confirm your claim with a video clip of Alien going to weather, under canvas, the helm free and auto pilot removed, no key in the ignition and the lever in neutral.... with nobody at the helm.... for even 30 seconds. Heck use any comparable fin keeler.... Without such factual proof... your claim has no basis. I don't even entertain wind speed or sea state to be a concern.... Hey Donal
The why did you say he did? I don't get it. Are you saying you deliberately lied? Most
people grow out of that by age 8, or they go into politics. "CANDChelp" wrote in message ... Dennis was talking about the America's Cup catamaran with a winged mast. Dennis wasn't talking about anything, you dopey tool! Bwahahahahaha! So easy! RB |

lied? Jeff, you're clearly a fun-loving guy!!! What a gasser! RB |
