You should have named her "Snail-ien".

I would suggest that you don't boast about your stepping stone's
performance, until you have a boat that performs.

I'm sailing a J29 next week, Donal. Now that's a pretty fast boat!
If you think a boat is slow at 150, what must you think of Billys, Moorons

or
most of the other boats here??!!!

You are the one boasting about your boat's performance, when its phrf is a
paltry 150!!!

Billy and Mooron seem to be contented with their vessels.

It's no wonder that you see your boat as a stepping stone!

I bet that your current source of income is also a "stepping stone"?? At
your age you really should have reached *some* of your goals.

It looks like you are destined to go through life without ever reaching any
destination.

You should look at most of the people that you, so freely, disparage.

Every post that SV does about sailing exudes contentment. Mooron seems to
live the life of Riley. MC loves his boat. Neal seems to be at one with
his boat. Capt America has just realised a lifelong ambition and is staying
in luxury in Hawaii. Jon is sailing regularily in the Bay. Skitch has an
IP, and BB seems to love his boat.

Only *one* person here seems to be unhappy with his lot! Only *one* person
seems to be stuck on a stepping stone at the age of 40+.

Yes, Bob. YOU!

Now you can go into your living room and tell (the non-existant) Suzzy that
you dished out a good beating to some weakling on the internet tonight.

I know every lawyer there who can afford any boat he wants. Email
me your friend's name.

Let's try this, Skitchy...you know every lawyer in AOL Legal, but none of them
can afford a nice sailboat? I'm not going to post someone's name here because
you can't be trusted.
But if you "knew" anyone there, you'd know this guy. Sailing is what he loves.
He also has a very unusual physical trait that makes him stand out.
You don't know jack, let alone anyone in Legal. Give it a rest. You outed
yourself.
AND, no pics of your supposed boat!

Not true - quite the opposite.

I have little use for the rating.
I only cruise and day sail my boat.
You, on the other hand, have boasted about the speed and relative newness

of
your boat.

Only because of the enormous disparity, on both counts, with your boat.

I can only imagine what you think of the older (but better built) vessels

that
populate the list.

We all want something different from our boats. Apart from you, we all
seem to have reached our objectives.

You can't have it both ways, Donal!

You are absolutely correct! I am happy with my boat. It isn't a stepping
stone. It is the realisation of a dream.

I hope that you realise your dream soon.

No, you said he could buy any boat he wanted. That is a short list and I know
all qualifiers.

What am I gonna do that you are worried about? Nothing. Its just a
smokescreen.

OK Is he former TW or former AOL? Is he at AOLTW or a division? What is his
specialty? You may know some lawyer there, but here you publicly bootstrapped
your own image off your acquaintance of him without his consent and now he's on

You boast about your boat's speed and newness. In fact you did it the first day

I plan for better, but I'm hardly unhappy with what I have. You need a lesson

Well, then I should qualify that. I meant (it should have been obvious) that he
could have any boat he'd want for this area. That means boats typically under
50 feet. He's been looking for a larger boat in the 300-400K area and I
consider that pretty expensive for a guy who won't have time to make long
trips.

on the swim platform.

yea, that'll prove it. Bob, the presumption here is that anything your write
is a lie. It is up to you to prove it is true. All you have to do is answer
some of the questions I've asked. Your failure to do so, just burns the brand
of the liar in a little deeper.

I have no reason to lie. In my career I am obliged to know all the top AOLTW
lawyers (this is no brag, I could be the exec floor shoe shine guy). It stands
to reason that I know your man, if he can buy any boat he wants. So, give me a
little to go on, and I will call him if I know him and put in a good word for
you. Maybe he'll let you crew for him.

It's more proof than you've ever provided on any single point. Posting the
guy's name means nothing and wouldn't be right either. Posting a pic of his
boat is harmless and offers some proof. The only REAL proof would be for your
to meet the fellow, but you'd have to show some courage for that one. Instead,
you'll call me a liar from a safe distance, ignoring the offer of proof. That's
your only refuge, Skitchy!

So, we've established that he's not a top honcho
and is looking for a 300-400k boat.

Again, I only know he can afford this. Perhaps he "could" afford more. I simply
don't know.
Again, you've lost sight of the thread. Do you have anything useful to add to
the original topic?

Thus, we have a mid-level lawyer who keeps his boat at City Island and is
scraping pennies to buy a larger one. A far cry from your first
characterization.

Skitchy, nobody who can spend 300-400K on a boat is midlevel anything. Very few
laywers have that kind of scratch for a toy. I don't think you know what the
average entertainment lawyer makes.
