but I don't dishonor the true heritage of boats by treating it
like
a some kind of superior experience

Sailors all through history (at least those that chose to sail and weren't impressed) have thought sailing to be a superior
experience. If you equate the act of sailing to any other day-in/day-out experience, why do it? It's not like you have to.
There must be something about it that is superior in your eyes or else there would be no purpose for it.

No sailor get's overly romantic about the roots of sailing. It just wasn't the
case. It was a brutal life. Our version is a joke compared to "real" sailors.
As I said before, you dishonor the spirit of sailing by attempting to rate it,
rank it or in any way classify it in some shallow elitist manner.
I'm truly dissapointed in this shallow and openly materialistic view of one of
the oldest and most dangerous professions.
It's no wonder that I've eclipsed most of you already.

If only you wasted a bit more before buying a Beneteau!

What shallow terms you all live on. The sad part is that you don't even realize
it.
No, Katy. Sailing is not "superior" in my eyes. It's just was "I" happen to
enjoy. To rank it on ANY level is to dishonor what it means to me and what it
once was.
You just don't get it. Nor will you ever.
