Default PA-West Branch Brandywine

Has anyone paddled Brandywine's West Branch from Coatesville to the
confluence with the East Branch? Can the river be run through the steel
mills section? Gertler says yes, with caution, but I'd like to hear
from someone who's done it recently. The beautiful Brandywine is
imprisoned within barbed-wire fences, concrete walls, scrap-metal piles
and general industrial blight. It later escapes into scenic Chester
County, but the forbidding nature of the Coatesville stretch is
tantalizing.

The section around Harvey's bridge through Embreeville looks Chester
County picturesque.
