His died in the second week of February, ours went last night.. His was under warrantee but still took almost 6 weeks to be fixed, I am not sure if we had the extended warrantee on ours. Either way, steer clear of Samsung **** if at all possible, just a warning... More idiocy. I've had a Samsung 214T monitor for my Windoze Desktop for at least three years, and it has never hiccuped. Pssst, there's a big difference between a computer monitor and a HD television. ====================================== You're comparing CRT and LCD display technology in this example. It's quite a bit easier to design a reliable LCD display than one using a CRT. Lower voltages and lower power dissipation in the LCD units. If there is a large number reliability problems with OPs model TV, I'll take a SWAG and say it's under-specified electrolytic capacitors. Or, bad capacitors as received from the vendor. A few years ago there was industry wide problem in the Far East with capacitors that were not up to specs. |
