You're talking to a guy who, every morning, has to deal with the foul
smelling matter in the pustules in his face.

Wouldn't you be negative?

Are you saying he has to deal with *you* every morning?
Now I know the cause of morning sickness.

Give it up, Herring. You're no more competent at this than you were as a
military ossifer. The only reason you made light colonel was because you
stayed in long enough.

Harry,

"LTC" (O-5)

Ins't that easy to come up with regardless of they time you spend in
the Army

The Army doesn't give 0-5 away, you do have to earn it.

I have an old and close friend in his early 50's now in Afghanistan who
is finishing up his career in the Army. When I first met him in 1988, he
was a a lieutenant hoping for promotion to captain in a year or two.
He's finishing up as a full colonel. He was in desert storm, and in
Dubya's war against Iraq, and now he's in Afghanistan. I guess he's done
well, and if so, he earned it.

Herring seems about as dumb a military officer as I have ever seen.

We lost a great young man who grew up in our development just
recently. He had just been promoted to Captain and was killed by a
suicide bomber terrorist in Iraq.

He entered ROTC after 911 and was an All-Ohio First Team High School
Football Athlete.

Services were held on Friday.

RIP Capt. Medders. You were a fine young man and will be missed.

Well, that's sad. He had a hell of a future, it seems.

Harry's just mad 'cause I won't talk to him. He'll get over it. Besides
that, he's a little bit jealous.

You have a highly overinflated ego. I wouldn't give a schitt if you got
hit by a semi on I-95. You have nothing to offer here or anywhere else,
and you prove it with every post.

You're the worst excuse for an Army officer I have ever encountered.

Well, Harry.

I may be totally un informed on your interaction with the Mil. But
during my 3 yr. stint, I've encountered many an officer (W's as well
as O's) and maybe not at that time, but in the long term I've been
impressed with the lot of them, especially those who started out as
grunts.

I wouldn't think that JohnH would be any different.

My opinion.

My first non-soda-jerk job in high school was for a great fellow, a
former air force officer, who ran a manufacturing company. He was
possibly the classiest man I ever met, and his wife and daughter were
classy, too. In fact, I dated his daughter for a few years.

I worked for a general for almost two years as a civilian. He was
first-rate.

I've run into active and retired officers throughout my life. When my
first father in law died, his lawyer turned out to be a retired Army
general He was a class act, too.

When I lived in West Virginia, my best friend was an Army captain, an
M.D., who was the examining physician for the draft and for recruitment.
He worked his butt off to help slightly underperforming or
underqualified guys with no real future find one in the military. Class act.

I probably have a dozen more classy officers with whom I have crossed
paths. Herring is trash.
