Please send complaints of TOS violations from Harry Krause to Individual
Net and Comcast. Be sure to include Complete headers and message bodies.
It would also be swell if you were to send copies of offending posts
directly to Harry Krause's known personal Email addresses.

Since midnight, EDT, I've seen the following posts from the so-called
boaters here, and no others:

Florida Jim an off topic whine
SWTom sci-fi
BAR non-boating whine about sales tax
Eisboch sci-fi
Eisboch sci-fi
D.Duck sci-fi
SWTom sci-fi
SWTom sci-fi
Eisboch sci-fi
Rowdy Mouse winterstorm, non-boating
Salty Palin
D.Duck golf
CalBill Palin
CalBill millionaire politicians
CalBill GOP nonsense
G.Fretwell Palin

The only boating posts from the regulars here are three on topic posts
from Tim around midnight.

This is no longer is a usenet discussion group where boats and boating
topics are discussed. It is a catch-all discussion group where almost
everything except boats is the topic of discussion. Half the posters
here who actually may own a boat either won't discuss their own boats or
even post a picture of it. That would include you, Florida Jim.

So what's your beef here, fella? That there are off-topic posts? Most of
the posts here are off-topic. You think golf, grandchildren clones,
travel trailers, kiddie motorcycle racing, and all the rest of the
nonsense are not off-topic?

You want a boating group, make it one. Start with a disclosure,
discussion and photos of your boat. Then get your boys Loogie, Reggie,
BAR to do the same. Cut back on the off-topic nonsense. After a while,
you'll probably have a boating group again. Maybe.

Practice what you preach, Harry.
No. Forget that. Just get lost.

Oh, I have practiced what I preach. And I'll be delighted to do so in
the future, when this becomes a boating newsgroup again.

A day or two last week, I point out the off topic posts of the regulars
here. What was interesting was the almost total lack of on topic posts.

Which makes me wonder why any of the regulars complain about off topic
posts, since virtually all the posts here from the regulars are off topic.

Some off topic posts are acceptable, but others are not?

That's logical.

On GoogleGroups, there is a "more options" that you can hit on a
particular post, that will say "report this message" You click it and
you get something like this.

Google takes abuse of its services very seriously. We're committed to
dealing with such abuse according to the laws in your country of
residence. When you submit a report, we'll investigate it and take the
appropriate action. We'll get back to you only if we require
additional details or have more information to share.

Type of Abuse:

O I am seeing spam

O This appears to be hateful or violent content

O I.e. Anti-semitic content, racist content, material that could
result in a violent physical act

O This appears to be illegal pornography

O I've found personal or private information

O I.e. Credit card number, personal identification number, unlisted
home address. Note that email addresses and full names are not
considered private information.

Other

------------------------------

It gives you specific boxes for what you may consider an offense.

you have to write a discription of what you may think an offense is,
but don't count on much.

cross-posting isn't one of them, neither political language.

SPAM is, and also hard racial language, and thats about it.

There was a cross-posting, white-power -acist-moron that used to hit
rec.boats quite often and he'd get TOS'd from GoogleGroups, then come
back with a differfent email and handle. Some of his past names we

Greg
Ted
Theodore

Anyhow, I haven't seen his crap in a while, so maybe he's left stuff
alone, or has been dealt with from someone who may have found out his
true identity.

I don't know.

I find google groups to have a cumbersome interface but I suppose
everyone likes what they get used to. I like the google gmail interface,
though, but a variety of mail servers just plain block email coming from
google because of the spam.

You are a good guy Tim.

How is your wife coping and getting along?

Very good, Jim. Thanks!

She's done with treatments, and tomorrow she goes to Decatur for
evaluations and scheduling MRI and various scans. Her strength is
returning as well as her hair and voice is fully recovered.

Thankfully the horrible Chemo and Radiation is over with. Hopefully
forever!

It's been tough, but situations like this do make you thankful for
what you have. When my family's health is at stake, all else seems
worthlessly trivial.

Thanks for asking, man.

i appreciate it!
