I can't take credit for this idea. It was passed on to me by an
annonymous reader of rec.boats
Please send complaints of TOS violations from Harry Krause to Individual
Net and Comcast. Be sure to include Complete headers and message bodies.
It would also be swell if you were to send copies of offending posts
directly to Harry Krause's known personal Email addresses.

Waste of your time. Violating the charter of an unmoderated newgroup is not
grounds to get your isp to revoke you. Sorry but they like the money a
whole lot more than they care about a news group.

Probably true, but if they got enough complaints they might send a "slap on
the wrist" warning to the offending party.
Knowing his style, he'll call attention to himself by responding with one of
his typical, foul mouthed, insults, raising the issue to a personal one on
one. Hopefully, the person managing the ISP will take umbrage and can his
ass.

Since midnight, EDT, I've seen the following posts from the so-called
boaters here, and no others:

Florida Jim an off topic whine
SWTom sci-fi
BAR non-boating whine about sales tax
Eisboch sci-fi
Eisboch sci-fi
D.Duck sci-fi
SWTom sci-fi
SWTom sci-fi
Eisboch sci-fi
Rowdy Mouse winterstorm, non-boating
Salty Palin
D.Duck golf
CalBill Palin
CalBill millionaire politicians
CalBill GOP nonsense
G.Fretwell Palin

The only boating posts from the regulars here are three on topic posts
from Tim around midnight.

This is no longer is a usenet discussion group where boats and boating
topics are discussed. It is a catch-all discussion group where almost
everything except boats is the topic of discussion. Half the posters
here who actually may own a boat either won't discuss their own boats or
even post a picture of it. That would include you, Florida Jim.

So what's your beef here, fella? That there are off-topic posts? Most of
the posts here are off-topic. You think golf, grandchildren clones,
travel trailers, kiddie motorcycle racing, and all the rest of the
nonsense are not off-topic?

You want a boating group, make it one. Start with a disclosure,
discussion and photos of your boat. Then get your boys Loogie, Reggie,
BAR to do the same. Cut back on the off-topic nonsense. After a while,
you'll probably have a boating group again. Maybe.

Do you live close to Salem, as in the "Witch Trials"?

Most of those here who whine the most do not post on-topic.

You could always set an example by posting ontopic and encouraging your
buddies to do the same, eh?

No. Forget that. Just get lost.

Oh, I have practiced what I preach. And I'll be delighted to do so in
the future, when this becomes a boating newsgroup again.

A day or two last week, I point out the off topic posts of the regulars
here. What was interesting was the almost total lack of on topic posts.

Which makes me wonder why any of the regulars complain about off topic
posts, since virtually all the posts here from the regulars are off topic.

Some off topic posts are acceptable, but others are not?

That's logical.

The hypocrisy in this newsgroup is nearly as high as it is in
"alt.bush.is.the.greatest"

If you keep tabs on a day's full of posts from the regulars here, on the
typical day, more than 90% of their posts are off-topic. The only real
hope for a rec.boats newsgroup is for it to become a moderated
newsgroup, but that is unlikely.

These boys couldn't even play nice at a discussion board a poster here
set up for them, and then when he went on vacation, he turned the
moderator reins over to Godzilla-with-Axe-to-Grind. Hardly anyone posts
on topic there, either.

Most of the regular, "complaining" posters here won't discuss their own
boats or post a photo of their boats. What they enjoy most is taking
potshots at the boats of others.
