See ya'll after the election...
Had enough folks - I'm unsubscribing - probably until after the New
Year. To tell the truth, probably not even then - too much to do and I've taken on a huge new professional responsibility which is also going to take up a lot of time. Y'all take care. See 'ya around. |

He was tossing insults with the best of him, and apparently only got ****ed when I deigned to question his "superior" knowledge in areas where it wasn't. As I stated before, if this were a real boating newsgroup... But it isn't. You know it and I know it. What it has become is a dumpster for the likes of Reggie, Loogy, JustWait and the rest of the non-boating schitts. I'll be glad to take this newsgroup seriously when the schitts come out of the closet, stop attacking those they don't like, and start posting information about their boats and their boating knowledge instead of about their golfing, guitars, breeder adult children, old cars, and those days 30 years ago when they were in uniform. You know...anything except boats. But I won't hold my breath until that day arrives. |

Tom doesn't get "driven off" by anybody, especially someone like you who thinks he is the de facto king of rec.boats. But, Harry, you display the lowest form of hypocritical BS to be found here. Tom agreed to mind the store at Chuck's Island for a while and simply insisted that Chuck's forum rules be respected. Contrary to your claims in rec.boats, you were the worst offender of the rules with snarky, poorly veiled insults directed at others, in direct violation of Chuck's requests. Tom had a level of control over things and your ego just couldn't deal with that. You became so frustrated, the "Brownie" comments and insults started. Christ, anybody with a 5th grade education could follow this cute little display. I suspect that part of your problem is dealing with the fact that Tom's IQ is probably 30 or 40 points higher than yours, another fact that your inflated ego just can't handle. It's fine to disagree about transom heights. But it's wrong to insult, call names and, when you get really, really frustrated simply employ your childish "ESAD" comment. You really are a piece of work. Or sick. Seriously. Eisboch |

It's so sad to see Tom leave.
There must be something we can do to keep this NG alive. A strict filtering regimin to eliminate Krause and any one else who exhibits similar behavior could work. Would anyone like to share any ideas to fix this NG? We could conference over at Chucks via PM if he will allow it. Or maybe we could do it via email. |
See ya'll after the election...
The only thing that will help this ng is if harry leaves... period. Another
option is for *everyone* to filter him out. If you don't see his posts, you can't respond to him... it's that easy. However, some people feel the need to "defend themselves" and as such will not filter him, so the cycle continues. I see none of his political garbage... until someone resonds to him. That sucks. Try it, you'll like it. harry is a sick individual, and will not, or cannot, stop. He needs help. --Mike "jim" wrote in message ... It's so sad to see Tom leave. Hell, he has already acknowledged that. Gene's algorithm obviously does not fix the problem. It is a great idea, intended to eliminate OT, but it obviously has holes. One of the historical issues is that "rec.boats" does not have a charter to fall back upon as a reference for conformity of topic or conduct. It's the original boating newsgroup and was started without benefit of a published charter. There is an old "FAQ" list, but no official charter. This is not to say that a charter guaranties civility or even helps, but "rec.boats" lacks a reference for conduct. The problem is not unique to rec.boats however. Virtually all of the unmoderated NGs I've read suffer from the same problems prevalent here. It seems like every one has it's own "Harry". Eisboch |

SNIP Eisboch I've had him filtered for a couple of weeks but I still see his crap in 90% of the posts here. We have to do something to get rid of him or there will never be peace here. Well, one thing you can do is to remember to remove an offenders post from your reply, then all that people will see is your post. Actually, the thing to do is to ignore the offender. If temptation to flame still exists, then get and/or set up filters Or that's how I see it |

I just have him filtered... it's easier. I don't understand why everyone else doesn't do the same. Because they can't. They need Harry. Look around, Harry isn't the problem. He *can* be filtered. His cross-posting threads *can* be filtered, but then, what will all the fish do? For a large percentage here, this isn't rec.boats it's rec.harry. |

For a large percentage here, this isn't rec.boats it's rec.harry. That's exactly what harry wants. Ignore him, and it will stop... simple as that. There's no need to "defend yourself" from him. harry knows nothing about any of us. Anything he says is pure fabrication, surely the intelligent here must realize that! --Mike |

We could conference over at Chucks via PM if he will allow it. Or maybe we could do it via email. A strictly adhered to filter regiment might work, but many, including me, get sucked back into discussions by quoted references. I am willing to try to totally ignore, if that is the consensus. My concern, in the case of Harry, is that if he runs out of people to insult or listen to his politics, he would just crosspost in an attempt to encourage and draw in new blood. Eisboch And keep in mind that what Harry is doing here, with his crossposting, he is also doing in all those other groups. It is not that hard to filter him and ignore him. If you, or anyone, feel they *must* get into a ****ing contest with Harry, it's always possible to meet him at one of his other groups. |

It almost happened before when the ones of us left completely ignored him. We could do it again but then he gets crazy and makes some sock puppets or a thinly veiled troll having to do with boats.. I say everyone should have one respons to anything he says, a dot and the words screw off. No matter what he says... Shun anybody stupid enough to engage him, and just let him go... ------------------------------------------------------------- I would suggest forgetting even the Chucky dots or *any* comment. To use them acknowledges presence of the offending poster. Eisboch [The members of this news group have unanimously decided that this poster is detrimental to the group in general. Therefore, this and all future posts, questions, trolls, and sockpuppets will be ignored] ----------------------------------------------------- "Persona non grata" Eisboch- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - But I might spell it wrong;) But it's done, anyone else in? Agreed. Hopefully, Gene will see the light and filter the problem in his 'rec.boats', i.e., Harry Krause. |
