There must be something we can do to keep this NG alive.

A strict filtering regimin to eliminate Krause and any one else who
exhibits similar behavior could work.

Would anyone like to share any ideas to fix this NG? We could conference
over at Chucks via PM if he will allow it. Or maybe we could do it via
email.

We can. It almost happened before when the ones of us left completely
ignored him. We could do it again but then he gets crazy and makes
some sock puppets or a thinly veiled troll having to do with boats.. I
say everyone should have one respons to anything he says, a dot and
the words screw off. No matter what he says... Shun anybody stupid
enough to engage him, and just let him go...

-------------------------------------------------------------
I would suggest forgetting even the Chucky dots or *any* comment.
To use them acknowledges presence of the offending poster.

[The members of this news group have unanimously decided that this
poster is detrimental to the group in general. Therefore, this and all
future posts, questions, trolls, and sockpuppets will be ignored]

That will attract REAL trolls, nitwit. Wait til the floods start. Ask
anyone who was a regular in alt.sailing.asa before it was strangled to
death by the Flonkers and Meowers.

Don't think for a second that it can't happen here. Their favorite
cause is stomping on self-appointed net nannys. They take no
prisoners.

Because they can't. They need Harry. Look around, Harry isn't the
problem. He *can* be filtered. His cross-posting threads *can* be
filtered, but then, what will all the fish do? For a large percentage
here, this isn't rec.boats it's rec.harry.

That's exactly what harry wants. Ignore him, and it will stop... simple as
that. There's no need to "defend yourself" from him. harry knows nothing
about any of us. Anything he says is pure fabrication, surely the
intelligent here must realize that!

--Mike

The intelligent realize that, but no one here meets that criterium.
And then there's Scotty @ SmallNutz.com, who really drags the curve
down!

A strictly adhered to filter regiment might work, but many, including me,
get sucked back into discussions by quoted references. I am willing to try
to totally ignore, if that is the consensus.

My concern, in the case of Harry, is that if he runs out of people to insult
or listen to his politics, he would just crosspost in an attempt to
encourage and draw in new blood. Hell, he has already acknowledged that.

I've had him filtered for a couple of weeks but I still see his crap in
90% of the posts here. We have to do something to get rid of him or
there will never be peace here.

You could get a powerful start by taking away Scotty's computer. He's
incapable of stifling himself, and Harry LOVES the attention. He's a
troll attractant if ever there was one.

Actually, Scotty is about the only one of the Seven Little Schitts with
whom I engage in badinage. Virtually all the rest are on my dumpster or
ignore list. If I loved the attention, as you say, I'd engage them all.

I haven't ignored Scotty because he, along with Loogy, who I do ignore,
are the perfect examples of what is wrong with rec.boats. Both of them
are like puppets on a string or, if you will, like Pavlov's dog. At a
very slightly higher level are posters like John H., who has a boat but
doesn't use it, and Reggie, who, above all, is the rec.boats designated
coward. I filter both of them here. But I haven't gotten around to
setting up filters on Gene's server, which I visit occasionally.

Well, one thing you can do is to remember to remove an offenders post
from your reply, then all that people will see is your post.

Yay!

Tim, are you willing to stop your discussions with Harry?

I'd rather not, but on political subjects?

Sure!

Let's get back to boats and start acting like grown men.

Do you mean like calling people names, insulting people and saying
untrue, mean and nasty things about their families?
That's what you and your scorned lover Harry do.

Y'all take care.

See 'ya around.
Tom has been named godfather to Bristol Palin's little bundle.

Give it up already Harry. *Your political posts and purposeful
crossposting are BS. *

Take your political crap to a NG or forum where you make an impact.
This NG has a couple dozen, if that, members and no one gives a crap
about your politican rants.

Tom is a smart, funny and knowlegable guy....your crap drove him off
(sorry to see you leave Tom).

Let's get back to boats and start acting like grown men.

I won't dispute that Tom knows something about boats, but I will dispute
that I drove him off. He was tossing insults with the best of him, and
apparently only got ****ed when I deigned to question his "superior"
knowledge in areas where it wasn't.

As I stated before, if this were a real boating newsgroup...

But it isn't. You know it and I know it. What it has become is a
dumpster for the likes of Reggie, Loogy, JustWait and the rest of the
non-boating schitts.

Non boating? What do you know about how much I boat, liar? The only
reason this place is a "dumpster" is because of YOU. You are a low
life pig with nothing of substance except childish name calling and
third grade insults.

I'll be glad to take this newsgroup seriously when the schitts come out
of the closet, stop attacking those they don't like, and start posting
information about their boats and their boating knowledge instead of
about their golfing, guitars, breeder adult children, old cars, and
those days 30 years ago when they were in uniform. You know...anything
except boats.

Why must you need to know all about someone's boat and boating
knowledge? Do you feel the need to talk about nothing but boats all of
the time? Must be hell to be so shallow.

I don't know Tom well, but I have met him a couple of times. * One thing I
know for sure though .... Tom doesn't get "driven off" by anybody,
especially someone like you who thinks he is the de facto king of rec.boats.

But, Harry, you display the lowest form of hypocritical BS to be found here.
Tom agreed to mind the store at Chuck's Island for a while and simply
insisted that Chuck's forum rules be respected. *Contrary to your claims in
rec.boats, *you were the worst offender of the rules with snarky, poorly
veiled insults directed at others, in direct violation of Chuck's requests.
Tom had a level of control over things and your ego just couldn't deal with
that.

You became so frustrated, the "Brownie" comments and insults started.
Christ, anybody with a 5th grade education could follow this cute little
display. *I suspect that part of your problem is dealing with the fact that
Tom's IQ is probably 30 or 40 points higher than yours, another fact that
your inflated ego just can't handle.

It's fine to disagree about transom heights. *But it's wrong to insult, call
names and, when you get really, really frustrated simply employ your
childish "ESAD" *comment. * *You really are a piece of work. * Or sick.
Seriously.

Eisboch

Yawn. Tom had control over the kill switch, that's all. He may be the
worst moderator I have ever encountered. He handled Chuck's place like
Brownie handled the aftermath of Katrina.

Your buddy Tom spent about a year insulting my boat. He got a couple of
weeks of it back, and he folded his tent.

I don't know what Tom's IQ is, nor do I care. I have noticed though,
that when he is questioned, he gets mad.- Hide quoted text -

All this because he wouldn't put up with your childish bull****.
