We'll see. Yes, I've had a few adventures with that when single handing the boat. My favorite evolving strategy is to attach a long line at the bow and run it aft; pick up the mooring either aft or mid-ships; run the bow line through the mooring pennant and cleat it off. After the boat settles back into the wind you can shorten up the bow line. The boat we have now has a pass-through that you can lower, allowing passage from the bridge to the forward deck. In normal weather conditions, it would be fine, but if it's blowing and rough it might be a bit difficult. The inflatable sits on the forward deck cradle also, so I'd have to work my way around it. Think I'll stay in the slip. Eisboch |
