It's sometimes difficult to get the bow up to the mooring buoy, then run down on the deck and grab the line by yourself. We'll see. Yes, I've had a few adventures with that when single handing the boat. My favorite evolving strategy is to attach a long line at the bow and run it aft; pick up the mooring either aft or mid-ships; run the bow line through the mooring pennant and cleat it off. After the boat settles back into the wind you can shorten up the bow line. |
