My BIL suggested a visit to Mystic Harbor in New Haven, CT while traveling from NYC to Boston. Does anyone have any information on Mystic Harbor? Mystic, CT, is not in New Haven. It's about 60 miles east of New Haven, a little east of New London. It's an interesting day trip if you are already going to be in the area. http://www.mysticseaport.org/ If you are going through New Haven, you'll want to consider stopping for lunch or dinner at Pepe's or at Turks. Pepe's, many believe, has the best pizza in the known universe. Turks in West Haven along the shoreline has great "shoreline" seafood. The restaurant and its same name predecessors has been around for at least 75 years. Do not park your car anywhere in NYC with any luggage or gifts in the trunk or visible on the seats. Your out-of-state plates are a dead giveaway that you are a "tourist" and therefore your vehicle is worthy of a trunk pop. I am not kidding about this. If you haven't picked a Boston hotel, consider the Parker House. It's a grand old hotel, recently renovated, and many of the best Boston sites are within walking distance, including an interesting graveyard where you will recognize some of the names. The Boston Aquarium is much nicer than the one in Baltimore. Thanks! .....Harry forgives you. He wants you back.... |
