Any competent criminal attorney will make mincemeat out of the prosecuter in this one. These accident investigators have a ton of technical tools at their disposal and if they are saying it wasn't the sailboat owners fault, it wasn't. What a mess. |

Sounds like a little collusion in the police department. That's a damn shame if it's the case. I agree that the sailboater, given the story, wasn't at fault. Should be interesting. I hope BoatUS sticks with the story. -- ** Good Day! ** John H |

I hope BoatUS sticks with the story. We had an incident on Lake Okoboji, here in Iowa. Cop boat was running very fast close to shore. They hit an anchored boat and killed someone. They tried to lay it on the anchored boat for showing no lights which are not required in a designated anchorage. That went nowhere. Manslaughter rap may be in a cops future. Casady |

What a mess. "The sailboat was ghosting through the water ..." Did both craft have adiquate navigational lighting? but sounds to me like the Baja was traveling way "too fast for conditions", though. |
