lights on the back of your trailer because...well...because they look
the same when lit, right?

I bet I am the only one here who drives everyone crazy with a walk
around.. No matter how recently I strapped down the gear, or even if I
just stopped for gas, rain, snow, shine.. etc, if I were
superstitious, I would say this was like a good luck charm. I sit in
the drivers seat (both feet don't need to be in the vehicle and
start the engine. Then I exit the vehicle and do a complete 360 walk
around checking the hitch, tires, straps, load, even around the front
of the truck looking for fluid, etc... I do this every time I start
the truck with a trailer on. If the Mouse is in the front seat, she
does the same in the opposite direction.. every time, no excuses..
period.. Even if I just finished locking down the load 15 seconde
earlier...

I always do a walkaround before I leave on a trip and again each time I
stop..checking the coupler, safety chains, a visual inspection of the
tires etc.

When people get too old to operate a vehicle safely I think they should be
shipped to Florida.
With 'locals' like WayneB trailering around at 9mph, it wouldn't matter
much.
