There's a big difference between a baseball and a golf ball. Although,
I'd still bet on the club.

Nuts with ball games.

I can still group a target at 200 yards, with a .303 brit. Oh yeah,
thats with iron sights too!

Now Tim is speaking my language. :)

Think you could hit a golf ball in flight when it's hit with a
baseball bat? :)

I sure as hell couldn't, but I can hit clays in flight...or even when
they are rolling fast on the ground!

200 yards is a lot farther out than I shoot, since I don't mess around
much with rifles. At the standard pistol range distance of 25 yards,
though, I regularly shoot 4" groups *off-hand* with a 9mm semi-auto, and
if I try hard, I can shoot even tighter groups. At "defensive ranges," I
can do a bellybutton group, which, I suppose, would be the equivalent of
1 MOA with a good rifle at 100 yards!

I've never had an affinity for rifles. Dunno why. When I go out shooting
with my buddies, they usually want to shoot my handguns and I get to
shoot their rifles. Fair trade. My favorite rifle is a Swedish Mauser in
6.5x55 mm. Not much recoil, and damned accurate.

But then again, that would depend on what stage of flight you're
talking about, Tom, after it gets whacked? or while its suspended in
front of you BEFORE it gets "whacked"?

Absolutely! the Ljungman is one of my favorite rifles and the 6.5 is
an all around sweet cartridge.

Let's say any where along it's flight path.

I ask because I've seen it done - once by a guy with a .325 Winchester
match rifle and another time by the same guy with a .357 revolver.

I don't have the reflexes any more to even think about actually
accomplishing the feat, but back in the day, I wish I had thought of
trying it. :)
