yeah, mistaken in my belief that I could hit a golf ball further with
a baseball bat than with a golf club.

I'm sure that, Obama like, I can rephrase my original assertion in
such a way that what I was really saying was that I couildn't hit a
golf ball further with a baseball bat than a golf club while not
admitting that I was mistaken about being able to do so leaving the
impression that indeed I could hit a golf ball further with a baseball
bat than a golf club only I can't.

I'll figure it out eventually. :)

You heard it here first Harry.

Obama will not be the next President of the United States if
successfully nominated.

And, if I were a betting man, he won't be the Nominee of the Democrats
either.

McCain ain't gonna win.

We'll see who is right. :)

Get it - right?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

If America is at least partially over its racism, Obama will win. If
Obama were white, he'd win in a landslide, But because he ain't, it'll
be close. But Obama will win.

McCain has absolutely nothing to offer. You can tell that by the
"attack" campaign commercials he is running right now.

McCain needs a new slogan. How about:

"There is no hope." - John McCain.

I was watching the 'Chronicle' show last night on CBS Boston
They talked about the Balsams Hotel in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire.
Seems this spot has the first returns on the presidential vote and
the17eligible voters claim a 75% success rate in picking a new president.
That might be a fun place to hold a Wrecked Boats re-union.

I wouldn't go to a rec.boats "reunion" unless I could open carry my Sig
Sauer X-5. :)

Seriously, I'll be watching closely for the Virginia returns. If Obama
carries Virginia, the outcome of the election will be known. If he loses
Virginia, we'll have to stay up a little later.

You can tell how desperate McCain is by the sniping remarks and attack
commericals he is running.

This week, McCain had another skin cancer removed. I think it
reasonable, since he has had more than one bout with cancer, for him to
be examined by a nationally known oncologist who will release a report
on that aspect of his health.

I've never shot one, but I've heard good things about it as a solid
all-purpose rifle.

My personal all-around bestest rifle is a older Winchester lever
action that was rechambered and re-barreled to .325 with iron sights.
Custom match ammo and that rifle is as accurate at a laser.

Are you referring to the semi-auto Ljungman? Not one of my favorites. I
prefer the old reliable bolt action swedish mauser for 6.5x55 rounds.- Hide quoted text -

Yessir, I was. i dont' have a bolt Swede, but the Ljungman is an
amazing machine. When loading that first round into the chamber, it's
so fascinating watching all those parts sliding around. brilliant
design. then the Egyptiand decided to copy it and make the "HAKIM"
chambered in 30-06 and really kind of butchered the design IMHO.

But harry, i have a couple of 7.5x55 Swiss "Straight pulls" For
military arms, they are absolute works of art. Especially for their
time period they are perfect specimens of Swiss machining.

Extreme accuracy, too!

If I were buying a rifle, I'd want one of the Swedish Mausers or, if I
were buying a new rifle, I'd buy one of the modern knock-off with
"Mauser action." In anything larger than .22LR, I prefer bolt action.

But I am really more into pistols. Here's a target from my day with a
semi-auto shooting .40S&W, 25 yards, offhand.

I shoot .22LR with a nice old Victor:

and also a Ruger, and I shoot competitively with this work of art:

It's a 9mm Sig Sauer X-5, wearing its everyday grips. It came with a
pair of beautiful wood grips, but I'm wary of scratching them, so I put
the black grips on it. 19-shot mag, one in the pipe = 20 rounds and
amazingly accurate.

Here's a foto from the Sig page of the X-5 wearing her Nill grips. It
has an adjustable trigger, but I haven't messed with that yet.
