In fact, in the 80's I lived in a small highway community of Westport
IL which is on the IL. side of Vincennes Indiana. The Wabash River had
three levees break and it naturally went on the Illinois side.

In this pic, you can see my old two story house which is surrounded by
trees. Look at the water level, it's up to the top story window The
blue building is the chrysler dealership.
I the left is a large yellow building which was the maintenance/ class
building for the Vincinnes University Aviation mechanics school and
Vincennes University airport.
at the top of the pic is the roof of a resteraunt.

Fortunately they got all the cars and planes out fo there

Stay safe, man. How's your wife doing?- Hide quoted text -

BTW, I thought of taking my boat over there to go floating around, but
the currents from the Wabash river are string,a nd when the waters up
it's easy to get snagged on something that you can't see below you. My
brother did go over with a friend in his jon-boat and thought it was
interesting to see people skiing right down Old Route 250. LOL!- Hide quoted text -

I always think of how perfect my boat would be in a situation like
that. It is perfect for shallow standing water, you can move a lot
with it and if the water is flat, almost impossible to flip. It would
probably be better for that with a jet drive though. Hey Tim, how
about an email update? Don't make me dig up your phone number
Thinking about you and your family..
