I may go, but it's going to be hot, so I may just decide to hang by the pool all weekend! Earlier in the week, I spent 5 days on the lake, and it was dead. Very few boats out on the water, and few people around the marinas at all. There were a few people fishing in the cove we anchored, and I saw a few larger boats anchored in the nearby coves, but I don't think I saw anyone skiing or just running about. The lake is still down, but there were still plenty of boating area and skiing areas that were not being used at all. My guess is definitely the cost of gas keeping most people out of the water. Yeah, and my old technology 135hp Evinrude will suck a tank dry in a heartbeat! I'm looking at a 16' aluminum jon w/ a 25hp Merc on it. My buddies 15 Johnson used about 2x the fuel my 1985 Mariner 15 used. |
