Anywho, then it's permenant casts. Thanks again......... Yep - it's a version of a device called an external fixator. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/External_fixation It all depends on how bad the break is, the stability issue (with respect to how fractured the actuall fracture is (odd way to put it, but that's the way of it) where it's located and the age of the victim. Good luck to her - been there, done that and while it's not fun, at least she's young and the recovery time will be appropriately shorter. Now I've got to get her ready to see that when they take a look next week......****. I wouldn't show her that picture! Did they put her to sleep for the operations on the arms? If so, I'd let her remain in the dark until they get ready to take them off. Just tell her to be careful with those arms! Does she get a 'helper' in school to take notes, write out homework problems, etc.? If not, you should call the principal and get her some assistance when she starts back. Also, her teachers should be sending assignments and stuff home so she doesn't get too far behind. She's finishing up seventh grade or so? -- John *H*- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - She's out of school for the summer. She missed the last day party Wednesday! |
