Thanks, man. Both forearm bones in both arms! They did surgery on
them, and there are "pins" involved in some form or fashion. I don't
know how they work, but in a week she goes to have them cleaned, and
in a couple of weeks or so, have them removed. They do it right in the
office, so they must protrude from the skin? Anywho, then it's
permenant casts. Thanks again.........


Yep - it's a version of a device called an external fixator.

It all depends on how bad the break is, the stability issue (with
respect to how fractured the actuall fracture is (odd way to put it,
but that's the way of it) where it's located and the age of the
victim.

Good luck to her - been there, done that and while it's not fun, at
least she's young and the recovery time will be appropriately shorter.
