The biggest weapon in the terrorists arsenal? I'm starting to suspect *we* are. People forget, as recently as 20 years ago, Iraq was a prosperous, secular, non-terrorist state, and our ally to boot. Now look at it. Iran was a budding democracy, until our very own CIA, overthrew Mossadegh. Now look at it. Poverty and hunger. People who are destitute and hungry with no hope are very easy to recruit. They will go along with anyone who comes to them with the answers to their immediate problems. If we had spent the money already wasted on this idiotic and futile "War on Terror" building houses, schools and hospitals and feeding people's families, 3000 of our soldiers would still be alive and home with their families. Instead, they are ripe for the picking when the terrorists come calling, looking for anyone who wants someone to care about them. For sure, we wouldn't be worse off. Radical Islam is a small percentage of Islam. We paint all of Islam with the same brush, at our peril. |

It's a country with policies we may support or disagree with. The threat to us was demonstrated on 9/11. Eisboch |
