I don't believe you can pass HD over S-video cables. You need composite
video or HDMI cables. And even if the program you are watching Says it's
broadcast in HD, Time Warner might not be sending you HD. To be sure you
are getting "all HDTV can be" watch the OTA broadcast for free.
Someone else said the same thing but I can see a difference between nonHD
and HD channels.
If you're watching over S-Video you can not be watching in HD.
don't bother, he is enjoy his HDTV, even if he can't tell the difference
between HD and Non HD TV.

I have to be totally honest here - HD is great and what not, but I
honestly don't see what the fuss is about.

Other than the ability to see boogers hanging out of somebodies nose,
big whoop.

But they are crystal clear buggers.

That's true, but as we've discussed, sharp doesn't an image make.

Just means I can take my glasses off when watching HDTV and the
*piture*
is the same as SDTV with my glasses on.

Do you wear those glasses when you post here?
Your posts are more intelligent when I take my glasses off.

Wow..Bertie made an attempt to post a funny.
Next you'll actually be talking about boating..... if you ever get around
to doing some.

When is your son going to stand on his own two feet and move out of mommy
and daddy's house?

Come on up & ask him yourself.

Bertie isn't allowed to leave the United States.

I'm one of those who gets wrapped up in details. Visually, I have a
critical nature and when colors or an image doesn't "look" right, I
obcess on it. Similar to when I critique a photographic image - it's
the same kind of concept. The blues aren't what they should be, white
are overdone, etc.

Part of the problem is that much like digital photography, colors seem
to be balanced to an average and not necessarily "real" color. Yes
yes, technically, it's real color, clear and sharp, but that doesn't
make it visually attractive. Sharp doesn't mean it's a good image and
that's my problem. :)

Picky, picky, picky - I know. :)

Do some more calibrating!

I like very much what I'm seeing on these TV's. Most likely I'm not as
picky as you are, but I'm very happy with these buggers.

I just hope I don't break them moving to NC, or whereever the hell we end
up.

From what I can tell there isn't a way to adjust sharpness on these new LCD
sets. Warm, cool, contrast, brightness, color, and tint are about all I can
adjust on mine.

Funny you should mention that.... I was reading in todays newspaper that
Canada's border people have upgraded their computer system and have been
blocking American's with convictions from crossing over. Sometimes for what
appears to be a minor case from many years ago.
Let's see....Bertie impersonated a marine for a couple of years. I wonder
if that would be grounds to be bounced back to the US.
Real Marines, of course, would have no such problems.

Eh?

Picture quality is not important to you?

Whatever.

JimH,
Why have you started to use all of Harry's expressions? Eh?

The next thing you will do is start talking about the military being
full of ignorant, no neck, brain dead individuals who only joined the
military because they were not capable of any other jobs.

What's the problem, isn't he allowed out of the country? What has he
done that he can cross a national border? Why does he have to live at
home? Is there something you haven't told us about yet?

Bertie isn't allowed to leave the United States.

I've been in and out of Canada many, many times and never had a problem.
Let's see Harry try that. His felony convictions would get him turned
around real quick, at least that's what I heard about him.

Let's see....Bertie impersonated a marine for a couple of years. I wonder

Wow Donny did you think that up all by yourself or did you get help from
somebody.
