Dear Abby,
Ok, I have this great big hole in my transom, should I put up a splash
boards or let the water rush in the way.

Thanks,
Sinking in the bay.

Dear Sinking,

If you spend all of your time BSing on the internet and fishing the
Patuxent River on calm days, you probably have nothing to worry about,
especially if you are *very* experienced and once saw a boat being
built.

Dear Whine..

So, how much does it cost to have a broken down old transmission
replaced on a broken down old boat?

To quote J.P. Morgan:

"If you have to ask, you can't afford it".

If I were you I'd stick to radio controlled lobster boat kits, the
ones with high transoms and reasonable maintenance costs.

Oh, I don't *have* to ask, Whine. It's just a bit of fun at your
expense, that's all. You know how that works, right? Hey, maybe you'll
have to sleeve an engine this year, or, who knows, replace the other
transmission. Fun, fun, fun.

You're getting pretty weird again and need to get out more, preferably
on a larger boat where you could fish the entire Chesapeake instead of
just the tributaries.

The boat I have now is pretty close to perfect for fishing the entire
Chesapeake and its tributaries, Whine. It also works nicely in the
ocean. Perhaps if your boating skills were a little sharper, you'd know
how to handle small boats in the ocean and not brownstain your shorts.

So, assuming your diesel can be sleeved, when is it due for a full
overhaul? Soon? And what's the MTBF on that other tranny? Soon?

Next time you're in the area, Whine, let me know...we can throw castnets
from the bows of our boats in 30" of water near the shoreline and bring
up some live baits. I'll put mine in my livewell and you'll put yours in
your...well...that would be a problem, wouldn't it?

Harry,
This could be a cut and paste from one of Skippers old post.

Now why don't you spend the next 2 years telling Wayne how much better
your boat is when you are towing it on the interstate.

Hey, I have an idea, why don't you make up something called "The
Challenge", where you ask Wayne about taking his boat on a 12 hr tow on
the Interstate, then you have to "cast nets" from the bow of each boat
in 30" of water, and then place them in a livewell. Which ever boat
does that best..... heck you can call that the best boat.

Since you know it is stupid to compare a really nice cruising boat with
a tiny little bay boat, with a big hole in it's transom, you can just
keep refering to this as "THE CHALLENGE".

Your low life Pahkuh would be lucky to last 10 minutes on a rough day
in the ocean or on the Chesapeake.

What happened to the 36' Zimmerman like Lobsta' boat Harry? I thought
you had two boats?

I assume you have a Diesel motor in your 36' Zimmerman like Lobsta' boat?

Are you offering Wayne a ride in your 36' Zimmerman like Lobsta' boat too?
