Dear Sinking, If you spend all of your time BSing on the internet and fishing the Patuxent River on calm days, you probably have nothing to worry about, especially if you are *very* experienced and once saw a boat being built. |

Dear Whine.. So, how much does it cost to have a broken down old transmission replaced on a broken down old boat? |

Oh, I don't *have* to ask, Whine. It's just a bit of fun at your expense, that's all. You know how that works, right? Hey, maybe you'll have to sleeve an engine this year, or, who knows, replace the other transmission. Fun, fun, fun. |

You're getting pretty weird again and need to get out more, preferably on a larger boat where you could fish the entire Chesapeake instead of just the tributaries. |

You're getting pretty weird again and need to get out more, preferably on a larger boat where you could fish the entire Chesapeake instead of just the tributaries. The boat I have now is pretty close to perfect for fishing the entire Chesapeake and its tributaries, Whine. It also works nicely in the ocean. Perhaps if your boating skills were a little sharper, you'd know how to handle small boats in the ocean and not brownstain your shorts. So, assuming your diesel can be sleeved, when is it due for a full overhaul? Soon? And what's the MTBF on that other tranny? Soon? Next time you're in the area, Whine, let me know...we can throw castnets from the bows of our boats in 30" of water near the shoreline and bring up some live baits. I'll put mine in my livewell and you'll put yours in your...well...that would be a problem, wouldn't it? |

Now why don't you spend the next 2 years telling Wayne how much better your boat is when you are towing it on the interstate. |

Hey, I have an idea, why don't you make up something called "The Challenge", where you ask Wayne about taking his boat on a 12 hr tow on the Interstate, then you have to "cast nets" from the bow of each boat in 30" of water, and then place them in a livewell. Which ever boat does that best..... heck you can call that the best boat. Since you know it is stupid to compare a really nice cruising boat with a tiny little bay boat, with a big hole in it's transom, you can just keep refering to this as "THE CHALLENGE". |

I helped take down my dealer's display at the Boston Covention Center today and transfer it to Hartford for the CMTA show this coming weekend. I had some down time, so I started talking to the Parker dealer and the subject of splash boards came up - I noticed that all the Parker boats on display had splash boards on the open transom boats. When I asked the question, he simply said that in his opinion, anyone who doesn't use a spash board is asking for trouble when backing down for any particular reason. Not to mention more water in the boat than is nececssary in certain sea states. Straight from the dealer. :) That really wasn't nice, Tom. Did you know that (according to the stats available through Google) several posters have logged an average of more than 30-posts per day since the beginning of the year? Good grief, it's become a full time job for some of them. How dismal is that? Now you've kicked off a huge "You're a this," "you're a that," feud that will run up the totals for some even higher. How was the boat show? Ours starts on Thursday. |
