I'm unimpressed by retirees who do nothing but indulge themselves, and virtually nothing to help others. I have a retired relative, 75 years old, who takes a 30-day vacation every year. The rest of the time, he and his wife help build homes for the homeless, run a soup kitchen in areas that suffer natural disasters, and help pregnant young girls find suitable alternatives to getting an abortion. They also help members of their church who are hospitalized maintain their homes. My relative and his wife have something meaningful to do. I asked them once why they give back so much, so much of the time. "We're not so self-indulgent that all we think of is ourselves and our comforts," he said. I admire them. My personal pet peeve is with those who constantly saturate anybody and everybody with their own cynical outlook on anything and everything that isn't within their own POV. It's tiring to listen to and hard not to react to sometimes, especially when otherwise people like that often have positive contributions to make or interesting experiences to share. Eisboch |

First, let's get the name correct. It's the 'Bozo's Bin'. Yes, you worked hard to get in, and you made it. That means the owner of the Bozo's Bin must have excuses lined up for when he accidentally answers you. -- John H |

Why are you denigrating people their for the choices they make when they retire? You seem to have a narrow view of what others should do and if they don't fall in line with your narrow view you whine about them. |

As I walk to get my next cup of coffee with a 1/2 teaspoon of sugar and a tablespoon of International Delights Hazelnut creamer. And, I don't do the Carnation Hazelnut creamer, it tastes like crap. Hazelnut foo foo underpantsy creamer, that one? ;) Of course my dad calls me names for putting milk and sugar.. says "what's that, ain't coffee, wrong color to be coffee".
