Well, that also goes with the geographical location as well. I'm
talking about Southern Centeral Illinois, not Chicago, NyC. or LA.
The fun was worth more than the gig pay, though.



My current cover band took the
night off because our lead singer had plans to be away then, that she
already had when she joined the band earlier this year. I kept hoping
to get a similar last minute call for a fill-in (I play keyboards),

Boy for some reason New Year's Eve seemed to be a
lot more fun twenty years ago or so!

No kidding!

Luckily the band I'm working regularly with now already has a pretty
full slate of gigs filling in all the way through the summer, so that
should help keep out on the water on the waverunner this summer.

It is actually in a area that was 99% black, in the last 5 years has
become gentrified, so it is now racially mixed.

only white guy sitting in that area - meaning floor seats - kinda
stood out if you get what I mean.
So I'm digging on the music and having a great time - first set goes
by, break, then out for the second set. *Band is starting up with some
kind of high energy R&B thing and BB steps up to the microphrone,
starts with Lucille and says - "This one's for the white guy down
front" and swings into this rockin' blues number. *I'm thinking "white
guy down front" then my buddy says "I think he means you". *I look
around and sure enough... *:)

window. *It was about a half a block from Dante's. *I think he was

What kind of sauce does Georgia use?



Tomato based is the most common, but you can find mustard (SC style) and
vinegar based (NC style) sauces at different BBQ houses. Some offer all 3.

Contrary to what Harry said, great BBQ really is dependent upon the
individual pit cook and not the geographic area. I have always found
the smaller BBQ joints to have better BBQ, they have the time to slow
cook their BBQ for 12 hrs or more. Some of the best ones are only
opened 3 days a week.
