They have raised spending 40% in the last 4 years, and we tossed the last Governor cause he allowed spending to increase 39% under his 4 year watch. But the Legislature keeps the spendthrifts in power as the control the Gerrymandering. It's called revolution. After all, didn't you guys initiate the tax revolution with Proposition 13? :) But Senator Perata wants to put a tax on all bullets while banning most guns. But he has a CCW and made his money as a bail bondsman. |

Bass may give you a narrower neck, but you'll need more force to play it. You'll also utilize less fingers most of the time, so it may not give you the workout all the fingers need.- however, you need more force on the individual strings, (strength) and with the wider frets (streching) i would think it could be quite thereputic. Granted you don't have the more precise touch a 6 string guitar would ahve, but then again, if it gets to the point where the loss is to predominate for a guitar then bass could be a wlecome thought. If a person really wants golf like frustration, or a precise workout, then pick up a fretless! It'll tell you how your dexterity is, and grade you like a fine toothed comb! ?: But granted, i really wouldn't entertain an upright because you end up gripping the neck, or at least I do. That's one reason I got rid of mine. OH it was set up really well, but 1) I couldn't really justify taking up a whole corner of a room to keep it (full 4/4 Kay), and 2) too much work for the results I was getting.I was moving my arm up and down the neck like a pump handle and my hand ended up being a portable capo. Anyhow. Tom, I wish you well with your decisions. |

Waitress told me when I was down your way (anywhere south of the Chicago suburbs is Southern Illinois to me.) Heard it on the news yesterday too. Air gets nasty around here when people start lighting off their fireplaces, especially if the wind is light. Inversion I guess. Totally different than charcoal cooking a steak or chicken. More like a house on fire, a house where dogs have been ****ing. Leaves burning smell a lot better, but that's been against the law around here for years. Don't have a fireplace myself, and the only thing I'd care to have one for is to roast marshmallows. My wife wants a phony fireplace. So far I've put her off it by saying first we have to buy a phony cave to put it in. --Vic |

We still have people shaped like the back of a bus. You do know that we've seen pictures of you. :) Am I your current fantasy, captain? Not at all. Just saying. :) OK, but I'm now eliminating the momentary glitch by walking 90 minutes a day with 50 pounds on my back, along with leg & arm weights. If you need a late night fantasy, focus on JohnH.: http://tinyurl.com/2smbuj Oh - a tad touchy there Dougie. Tsk - no reason to get snippy just because they could put advertising on your sides and a destination sign on your forehead. So to speak. :) Actually, I've been 170 +/- 2 lbs since college. I hit 188 this past summer. That's in the process of being fixed. There is no way I will go up an inch in waste size. Can't happen. Not permissible. Seeing how you wear your pants, you could easily add 50 lbs without adding an inch in your waist size. |

"Short Wave Sportfishing" wrote in message ... I discussed this with Tim - all my guitars, with the exception of the '66 Strat, have wider than normal necks and I'm finding it difficult to play as more nodes appear in the fingers. The Strat is worth some bucks, so I generally don't play it - same thing with my autographed Country Gentleman. Thus, switching over to bass. Speaking of guitars, I just spent an hour or so goofing around playing my Taylor acoustic through the Leslie speaker system. Nice sound. The Taylor has the new acoustic type pickup that has a distinctive sound and the Leslie adds a unique touch when you hit the foot pedal to spin the horn. Eisboch |
