What was your total for the day. Somewhere between 10 and 12 inches. Heavy slush on the bottom, then solid, wet snow ... the worst kind. Eisboch |

Did you folks have the same traffic problems we had here in the Nutcase State? Out cable provider caries the major networks out of Boston. I couldn't believe the stories...people taking 5 hours or more to get home... some running out of gas and just abandoning their vehicle on the freeway etc. Even a bunch of kids were trapped in their school until 2100 hrs before a school bus arrived to take them home. We've been getting small amounts of snow almost every day and expect a fair bit tomorrow. Moncton, about 150 miles west of here, might get as much as 40 cm. |

Mornings like this make me dream about Wayne's place. http://www.eisboch.com/plowing.jpg Eisboch The weather here is very fine indeed, come on down. I've been carrying around a spare Furuno chart plotter on the GB because it was on sale at a good price last year and thought that I'd network it into the lower helm at some point. Last week I decided that its proper role during the winter would be on our SeaRay runabout and ordered a separate GPS antenna and mounting kit. Yesterday afternoon, after getting all that installed and working, it seemed fitting to go out for a sea trial (any excuse will do). The weather was near perfect and the sea trial turned into a 65 mile run down the Caloosahatchie River, up Matlacha Pass on the east side of Pine Island, around Bokeelia on the north end, over to Boca Grande on the Gulf, past Cayo Costa Island, Cabbage Key, Useppa Island and back home via the Gulf Coast ICW. The boat was running well, averaging 26 to 28 kts and conditions were just ideal. Oh yes, the Furuno worked very well also but is somewhat overkill for the job. |
