You ought to get off that RV barge and do some fishing. You're in a

It's a good thought although our main priority is getting home at this
point.

What do you recommend for bait?

Try this place, right near you.

Live shrimp or live pogies or large salt water minnows:

I used to "refill" on bait there.

Do you have resistance heaters or reverse cycle? We use a combination
of both on the GB49.

(currently anchored south of St Augustine near Matanzas Inlet.)

Four reverse cycles, one of which (the master stateroom) is equipped with
the electric heating option. You can use it as a heat pump or electric
heater, but not at the same time.

But ... I am attempting to keep the boat warm without using any of the
reverse cycle systems.
I am insulating windows and trying to heat with space heaters set at half
their max wattage. At some point the water will be too cold for extracting
heat.

That's a good plan. We've added a lot of weather stripping and it's
made a big difference. West Marine sells a nice little electric space
heater with a thermostat that works and a variable speed fan.
