Norwalk Virus, necrotizing fasciitis, MRSA, colds, influenza...

Sure, I'll take a cruise on a big ship with hundreds of other people
and their rug rats that I don't know on your recommendation.

Like hell I will. :)

Yup. Good idea. Don't go to your local grocery store either. Don't even
*think* about getting into a cab!

One of the songs on board was, "I've got the cleanest hands, in the world.
I've got the cleanest hands, in the world. I've got the cleanest hands, in
the world. The cleanest hands in the whole wide world!" (Sung to the tune,
"He's got the whole world...in his hands"!

This was true because we were continuously confronted with crew giving us
hand disinfectants.

Airplanes, I hear, are much better because of all the fresh air coming into
the cabin!

The Disney folks really take care of their passengers with great food,
great shows, and a beautiful ship. I highly recommend it!
I have never been on a cruise, but it sounds like a great trip with
the grandkids.

All my life I've thought they were a great waste of money, and they are.
Now I've gone twice in two years, and am planning to go again in two
years!

I was thinking, while on this cruise, that cruise ships would be a great
target for the GW fanatics. Those things use a lot of resources, and
provide nothing, other than fun, for mankind. So, you ought to take
advantage of them before they get on someone's hit list.

I actually asked my wife if she would like to take a cruise to Alaska.
She liked the idea originally, then decided she would prefer to take
more shorter vacations than a 2 week cruise.

Did you offer to send her on a vacation with someone other than you?

Ditto. As an aging baby boomer I cannot imagine wanting to take a cruise
aboard a ship filled with snot nosed screaming spoiled
brats........grandkids or not.

I shudder every time we go out for dinner to find us next to a cheap skate
family who decided to bring their screaming preschooler with them rather
than hire a baby sitter. Having to endure an entire cruise with that
*atmosphere* is not my cup of tea.

Perhaps you, your kids, and your friends should raise kids who are not
'snot-nosed screaming spoiled brats...".

Jealousy coming to the fore again, JimH?

No, but that might have done the trick, we could have taken separate
vacations together. :)

That is the reason why they offer so many different kind of cruises.

They are all death traps.

Nope, not a death trap for most. Boredom trap for a lot of us.

I can honestly say that I was never bored. There were usually too *many*
things going on. I got a lot of enjoyment from a few quiet hours in the
adults-only areas with a good boot. (Whoever recommended Monsarrat's "The
Cruel Sea" did me a great favor." I'll take any other recommendations from
the same author.)

It was funny to watch the people on a Carnival cruise ship docked next to
us at Cozumel. (Did I get the spelling correct, Harry?) When the Disney
Magic docked, dozens of people on the Carnival ship got their cameras to
take pictures of the Disney Magic. I saw not one person on the Disney Magic
take a picture of the Carnival ship.

You are old, everyone has to die sometime.

You first. :)

For me that's probably true. I smoked like a fiend for 39 years, so I don't
worry much about the little things any more.

Toured the Queen Mary in Long Beach last week. Was a cruise ship docked
near it. Unbelievable how much bigger the cruise ships are than the QM.
Way to many people to deal with.

We did that when I was stationed at San Pedro (Fort MacArthur). That was a
fun tour and a nice park alongside, iirc.

Are folks not allowed to have opinions on Disney Cruises different than
yours John?

I understand that coming off a nightmare cruise like that will cause you to
be a bit on edge.

You are finished with it............so relax dude.

You and Reggie need to take some chill pills.

Jimh, you are welcome to any opinion you wish!!

A nice present for your son may be a cruise on the Disney Magic! I'm sure
you and the wife have been on several, so you know what a relaxing
adventure a cruise can be. Your son would love it, right?

Screw you.

I never posted anything negative about your kids or grandkids. Your flame
of my family is uncalled for.

I have raised a son who will soon be a US Marine.

I have raised a daughter who will soon be graduating from Ohio State.

I can understand your nasty attitude after coming off a cruise filled with
snot nosed screaming brats.

You now need to chill.

Jealousy coming to the fore again, JimH?

Jealous of a you taking a Disney Cruise? ROTF!

Oh my gosh, I thought you mentioned my grandkids in your post about
snot-nosed kids! Was I mistaken? Oh me.

You have no idea what the atmosphere is on a Disney cruise ship. It is not
comparable to the places cheap people take their screaming, snot-nosed kids
where you seem to go a lot. I can't believe you'd really take your wife to
those places 'every time you go out for dinner'. Hopefully you'll be able
to do better now that the Marines are feeding one of your family!

Try a cruise. If not that, at least try something other than cheap
restaurants.

Yes. Please show me where I did.

BTW: I am still waiting for an apology from you for posting a personal
attack on my family.

However, I was not surprised that you made that attack nor am I surprised
you are not man enough to apologize for that attack.

JimH,
You are sounding exactly like Bassy when you were teasing him about his
wife and kids. The difference is John made the comment once, you made
the comments to Bassy numerous times a day, for months. Do you remember
how silly it sounded when Bassy was asking for an apology? Whats next,
Are you now going to accuse JohnH of stalking you and your family?.
