A Super Boat Ride...
Just returned, yesterday, from a great trip aboard the cruise ship 'Disney
Magic'. A great week with stops at Key West, Grand Cayman, Cazumel, and Castaway Key, by Abaco Island in the Bahamas. The Disney folks really take care of their passengers with great food, great shows, and a beautiful ship. I highly recommend it! |

I'm with you, no eff'ing way I'd EVER take a cruise on one of those monsters. A small river cruise with under a dozen staterooms, maybe. But one of those floating apartment buildings... never. |

I do have two immunological disorders and have to be aware of the very real possibility of infections of all sorts from sinus to routine cuts, bruises and skin problems like poison ivy. It was funny to watch the people on a Carnival cruise ship docked next to us at Cozumel. (Did I get the spelling correct, Harry?) When the Disney Magic docked, dozens of people on the Carnival ship got their cameras to take pictures of the Disney Magic. I saw not one person on the Disney Magic take a picture of the Carnival ship. My wife and I went to that part of Mexico for our honeymoon. We landed in Cancun, spent a day there, and then took the ferry ride to Cozumel, where we stayed for two days. Rented scooters. Last season, some tourists were killed in Cozumel. Hoodlums chased them down, got them off their scooters, robbed them and then killed them. Scary. Anyway, after Cozumel, we went to Tulum, and then to Chichen Itza. Great trip. We spent another day in Cancun upon our return. I wouldn't recommend Cancun to anyone these days. |

Don't go to your local grocery store either. Don't even *think* about getting into a cab! One of the songs on board was, "I've got the cleanest hands, in the world. I've got the cleanest hands, in the world. I've got the cleanest hands, in the world. The cleanest hands in the whole wide world!" (Sung to the tune, "He's got the whole world...in his hands"! Harry, Have you ever notice that I don't reply to your name calling with name calling? What I have noticed is that while most of us are trying to get along, you remain the snarky a**hole. Work on that. |

He has asked you questions that may be difficult for you to answer, but he's not 'attacked' you or Jimh. Neither have I, although Jimh would like to imply that I have. I have told Reggie that I want neither his advice nor his questions. I have told him this at least 50 times. |

I rest my case. Yes, by taking a preventative measure, the crew was actually spreading disease. Good point. Take airplanes. The continuous fresh air in the cabins is bound to be more healthful. Hey - do your thing - I have no problem with it. If you want to walk around a floating infection factory where they have to hand out disinfectant wipes to keep their clients healthy - have at it man. Good idea. Brilliant in fact - should make everybody feel much safer health wise. The base fact that disinfectant wipes are meaningless in the long run shouldn't enter into it at all. Remember - disinfecting doesn't kill virus vectors - only bleach or similar solutions kill virus vectors. I'm not going to do it for stated reasons. The last infection I had took three months to get rid of and I had to use a walker to move around the house. And that was from a brand new pool at the health club I belong to. Be my guest, but I'll take a pass. |

Harry, I recommend you either filter me, ignore me or stop posting in rec.boats and use email. What would your response be if i told you I don't want you to respond to my posts? What would your response be if I told you I don't want you to use childish profanity and name calling every time someone disagrees with you? Why do you think you are so special? Your threads (like all threads) are open to all to respond, and even if you don't use my excellent advice ( ;0 ), they have made for some great discussions. What happened to you that made you the way you are? |

A great week with stops at Key West, Grand Cayman, Cazumel, and Castaway Key, by Abaco Island in the Bahamas. Norwalk Virus, necrotizing fasciitis, MRSA, colds, influenza... Sure, I'll take a cruise on a big ship with hundreds of other people and their rug rats that I don't know on your recommendation. Like hell I will. :) Yup. Good idea. This was true because we were continuously confronted with crew giving us hand disinfectants. Airplanes, I hear, are much better because of all the fresh air coming into the cabin! Are folks not allowed to have opinions on Disney Cruises different than yours John? I understand that coming off a nightmare cruise like that will cause you to be a bit on edge. You are finished with it............so relax dude. You and Reggie need to take some chill pills. Jimh, you are welcome to any opinion you wish!! A nice present for your son may be a cruise on the Disney Magic! I am glad you enjoy going on a cruise with Mickey, Goofy and Donald, as well as with a bunch of snot nosed screaming brats. My son has higher standards. I'll bet jealousy sucks, doesn't it? |
