ROTFL!!!

Fer him or agin him - that was funny.

Yeah, if you are 11 years old or so. Otherwise it's just stupid and
slightly sad. IMO, of course.

Of course you wouldn't find it funny.

You have zero sense of humor.- Hide quoted text -

I don't think beating up on people in a mean spirited fashion is
funny.

That's not mean - that's amusing. It's funny. It's harmless.

If that means I have no sense of humor, then so be it.

Heh - can't be any other way can it?

Icing down the steps outside the nursing home isn't funny, either-
despite the fact that you will see some spectacular crash landings.

How you can compare this to that video is quite beyond me. However,
it does prove one thing - you are really in need of some help.

While I didn't think the video was funny, I do think icing down steps to
be extremely humorous.

Humor, so subjective, some people find Sarah Silverman to be funny.

The comparison is obvious. In both cases, you have somebody with foul
intent finding amusement in the distress of an unwilling victim. One
is physical distress, the other isn't, but the basic action is the
same.

Thanks for the observation that I need some "help", but if getting
such help would result in me finding a mean-spirited, off-topic,
personal attack post "funny", I'll just sit over here in the
"unhelped" or "beyond help" section. The goofy video is adolescent, at
best; and it says *much* more about the mental and emotional maturity
of the attacker than the victim, (as these sorts of things always do).

Question: Would you find the video just as funny if the head of some
person important to your religion, an American soldier in Iraq, or
your favorite Republican presidential contender was substituted for
Doug's? How about a family member, would that be funny? Isn't there a
chance that your personal opinion of Doug is what allows you to find
this funny?
If so, then it's the specfic criticism of an individual that you are
enjoying, not the childish video.

I don't know Doug and don't have a personal opinion of him. (His
specfic action of crossposted trolling isn't all that great, but I
don't know him well enough in general to hold an opinion). Sans a
negative opinion of the victim of the nonsense in question, it's hard
to understand why any mature adult would find it amusing.

If you find crossposted messages that are ACTUALLY from me, as opposed to
the user posing as me, it's because like many other people, I don't normally
check the address line to see if a message is going to multiple groups. Most
of the time, there's no reason to check, unless someone has added multiple
groups to intentionally cause problems.

They just all happened to find you, huh? Miraculous!

The sober people in the newsgroup figured out how that happened. Not you,
though.

Get help, John.

If you were asking for my advice. (I know, you aren't) I would suggest
keeping the fights confined within the newsgroups where they
originally start. Most people have little need to check the address
headers, but others obviously do and might benefit from doing so.

Chuck, the only time I intentionally cross post (and it's rare) is if I post
a technical question in the Microsoft groups and it makes sense to have them
visible in more than one group. There are times when it's valid to cross
post.

Focus very hard on the word "intentionally".
