Is it bad to store a composite kayak outdoors for the winter?

I would have it all closed up so no animals get in.

I have not decided if I will wrap it in plastic of some sort.

Just protect it from the elements and it will be fine.

I store my kayaks inside the garage sideways on hangers, the canoes live
outside in a area between the garage and privacy fence with a tarp attached
to the the garage and fence covering over them to keep them out of direct
sunlight and dry (don't want them to get water on them as stuff tends to
freeze in Chicago during the winter and expansion would be bad)

Hanging from the ceiling, the kayaks take up very little space.

Here in the near-tropics of SouthEastern Penna, I've been storing
my kayaks outside 24-7-365 with no problems.

I did have a spec surf ski where the (cosmetic?) fiberglass tape
started separating from the seam it was covering after about five
years; but my money is on poor surface prep, bad resin, or
something like that.... because that was the only problem craft
out of at least a half-dozen boats.

I store my #1 boat on the roof of my van for the winter, because I
never know when there will be an over-40-degree weekend when I'll want
to go boating!

I see you use a Canadian mail service.

Here in ottawa snow load can be a problem.
The weight of snow, old snow which has turned to ice, and rain water
absorbed by snow can deform a hull. If they can't be under a shed or
spruce trees the keel should be supported from the inside, asuming the
hull is upside down as it should be since you don't want ice and snow
collecting inside the hull.

Note that when a boat is stored upside down the water runs off the
hull and collects on the underside of the gunwales where it can do
some damage. When I build a boat I bevel the underside of the gunwales
so water runs off instead of collecting. Also the hull should be up
off the ground where freezing and thawing ice and snow won't get into
wooden gunnels or delaminate edges of synthetic materials. More of a
concern with canoes than kayaks.
