So, what do you think of my new boat selection? -- John H- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Yeah, really? No one even commented. I thought I would hold off, but geeze. Anyway, I like the lines of the hull on many of their smaller boats like the 14 and 17's. My only comment is how big it is and how difficult it might be to single launch and such, Do you boat in open or protected water, if protected, I might even go a couple feet smaller. If open water, get a good skid protector on the keel, and some good bumpers. Good point. That in-between size can be awkward. If a person always has at least one able crew along...no problem. If not, I'd be tempted to either go a bit bigger and keep the boat at a mooring/slip, or go smaller to something easily handled by one person. As you say, a lot depends on where you boat and the conditions you're brave or foolish enough to venture out in. Jeez...I used to launch and retrieve the original Yo Ho alone once in a while. This was a boat 25' long, plus another seven feet for the pulpit and outboard bracket. Close to 7000 pounds with fuel. On and off a bunk trailer. I could launch a 21-footer blindfolded. You are a freaking genius. |
