NASCAR is a sport? I thought it was a venue to sell beer and really dumb
women.

Who'd buy a really dumb woman?

I feel sorry for your apparent lack of a mis-spent youth and the loss
of opportunity of the ensuing riotous and frivolous
experiences........

Say what? I was very disappointed thet no one carried the Americas Cup up
this way.
From what I've heard it was a fairly close series.

Sailboat racing can be fun if you are a participant, but really,
watching it as a spectator...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Indeed. I, too, derive no pleasure from vicarious experiences. If I am
not *experiencing* it, my ADD kicks in. I still love a game of pick-up
football, but I have no interest in *watching* somebody else play.
Ditto any other experiences or sports that interest me.......

Harry, I know you only too well..... I see your hand waving about like
a hand towel in a hurricane and I hear your agitated voice a la Arnold
Horshack. No, I will *not* comment on XXX movies.

Heheh. I only comment on the ones in which I starred. :}

There are very few spectator sports that hold my attention. I'll
watching fishing shows, but I don't watch the "competitive" ones.
I do go to baseball games up at Baltimore from time to time, because I
like baseball, I really like that stadium, and because Baltimore is one
of my favorite small cities because of the waterfront and all the great
restaurants around the city.

Some years ago, never mind how many, I went with my wife and her dad and
his wife to a Florida State football game in Tallahassee. Her dad is an
FSU grad and a rabid fan. We had great seats. FSU was the #1 team in the
country that year. The entire experience - the stadium, the noise, the
pageantry, the spectators- was a great experience. I didn't really watch
the game.

up with some of the "righties" here.

C'mon Harry.... don't use me as an entrée to troll.

There is somebody for everybody over there at alt.com..... and they
would even have to hire Jeff Gannon to sneak in the back door....

alt.com?

altered, commercially?

Hmmmmmmm..... well, that might be a good point. "Bought" probably
isn't the right word.... huh?

I can't beleive you call racin' boring, but watch baseball? Huh, kind
of like soccer, a moment or two
Anyway, me and mrs JW are sitting here laughing like crazy, I was
looking for racing and found probably the silliest sport in history.
At least the participants are taking it as un-seriously as it
deserves. I am watching the National Rock, Scissors, Paper
competition, Or at least I was, by the time I finished (excuse me
while I change the channel) typing this it just got too silly, as
bogus as baseball, without the steriods...

Actually, I enjoyed the Cup yacht races - the commentators were very
informative and the action shots were pretty cool.

As far as NASCAR - I like the big speedways - go fast and turn left.

I'm not a big fan of small track racing except for Bristol which is a
riot to watch.

all of it, like watching paint dry.

That would be bowling.

Gimme my fishing shows back......

Oh my God - talk about boring.

Only to "certain" types of people.

Want to fall asleep? Watch the Tour de France on ESPN.

Well, see there's your problem.

It's on Versus - the old OLN.

Sheesh.

Sheesh this, Dull Boy... :)

You're right...it is VS. Whatever the hell that is. I only know it as
the weekend fishing channel. Now I understand why the quality stuff has
been replaced by bike racing, hockey playoffs, and the rest of the crapola

We get it. You don't like sports. You got the crap kicked out of you
in high school, right? I know you're "listening" - you can't help it.

Talk about boring. I was watching a sports news thing, and they ran
about 20 seconds of b-roll of the girls US soccer team, The headline
of that clip was the team "almost" making a
goooooooooooooooooooooooooooal !!

Soccer is extreme tension, competition, and excitement, and 89 1/2
minutes of total boredom
