If you went boating on the 4th. We did, but no fishing yesterday, simply
a cruise with friends to a nice beachfront and enjoyed a day on the water.

Cheers to all.

My hands were busy. I played in a CW band for 2 hrs, at our county
seat park, and ran sound for another couple hr.s, then watched the
fireworks.

We never go near boats on July 4th. All the drunks are out on the water.

Harry, you have a point there, because onn the 4th of July, at Carlyle
Lake (my favorite place) the Water Conservation Dept, (complete with
County Deputies on board) is out checking boats, and it's interesting
how many boats, they actually do pull in with someone clapped in cuffs.

They usually don't mind if there is somebody sober to "pilot" the
boat, but when you have a guy with a couple of his buddies all flying
three sheets, then somethings going to get "interesting"

Well I had a miserable time in Baltimore. Listened to my 18-year old son and
spent 6-hours in 30-40 Kn winds and torrential rain with fireworks delayed
30-minutes. Just to make it interesting my anchor wouldn't hold in the inner
harbor and I had to move once every 30-minutes - the chap behind me
generally getting concerned.

Like everything in the universe - that that doesn't kill one makes ones
stronger. However, I still blame my son and my stupidity.

Hope everybody else had fun - I simply learnt not to do that again!

I took off all week and we spent a total of 4 days on the boat during that
time. I spent another day working on it installing the 2nd battery and
switch. We stayed off the water on the 4th mainly because of the unsettled
weather. We also are not on the water today as my son took the boat out
with a couple of his buddies but will most likely head up to Kelley's Island
tomorrow for some swimming and then perch dinner at the Village Pump.

My son joined us on the boat this past Thursday. After we anchored and
were in the water at our favorite swimming hole I told him that the boat
will be his when he graduates from USMC boot camp and is able to physically
take possession of it. He was pretty happy with that news as he loves the
water and boating. ;-)
