list of reasons, some of which evaporated and were replaced by others.

My Dad was a Police officer for over 30 years before he retired. His
recommendation is City departments if you want personal interaction
with the people, or some specialized group. Drug enforcement agencies
tend to have less political crap to deal with. I'm sure your son
would make a fine addition to any force but many of them have been
over liberalized to the point that he will be treated very badly by
his own people. I hope this is not the case.

It's not your choice and it's not your decision. Further, it's not
your child.

In short, it has nothing to do with you, your opinon on the war, your
opinion of politicians or your opinion about anything.

Jim's son made his choice - I happen to know it was an informed choice
and he made it in the light of day. It's his decision. Jim has the
right to be proud of his son if it were the Air Force, Army, Marines,
Coast Guard or (THE HORROR) Navy because he is serving his country in
an honorable fashion.

It's a thread about Jim, his family and his son's decision. This is
