By raising the price you became less "needy" than the buyer. In any
negotiation, the person with the least emotional need will prevail. :-)

Exactly. The threat of it going up *again* if there were no bidders was
enough to smoke one out. Now.. come the price war in the last 3 minutes...
I'm a leg up on the whole thing.

They *are* evil... I'm getting it off my property and putting cash into the
hands of my customer. So he can afford more Merc stuff. )

It is. Try removing it and see how you plane and/or get cavitation, if
you don't need it - don't use it..

A reverse Dutch auction?

Interesting.

Wonder how high you'll need to raise the price to find a buyer. :-)

Maybe Billy Dee Williams needs an outboard.

Laugh now.... but it worked.... I got a bid. Heh....

Speaking of which, any ideas on what I can get for the blue band 65
Merc I have?

I really need to get rid of it - it's just sitting there.

Yeah, how much, I got big work skiff that would love it?

Hell - if you want to take it off my hands you can have it.

One blown cylinder- I blieve there is a hole in the middle cylinder
piston. There doesn't appear to be any serious cylinder scoring - done
by bore scope. Probably a good honing would clean it up.

Lower unit is known good - the engine is super clean.

If you want it, you can have it.- Hide quoted text -

Another project, hummm, probably not. However... I am starting a new
project this week, going to build a trihull runabout for my wife and
me. Just finished lofting it out and I am ordering some of the hull
materials today. That will keep me busy.

A trihull? Mr. Retro.
Why not just find one by the side of the road and make a mold off it?

Because I almost bought a 13 foot Whaler sport a couple of weeks ago,
I should have, it would have been the perfect boat for my boating
needs but I missed out on a great deal and can't see another coming
along at that price. I can however build boat to fit my needs, and in
stead of building a quick garvey, a few extra seams and I will have a
boat that will work a little better, and look a lot nicer. I seriously
thought about getting an old Whaler Sport hull and splashing it, but
it i just not practical for a one off. Instead I have lofted out a
very similar hull in flat panels, which I have done before. Simple
panel over frame, should be a good summer project. Needs to be ready
before crabbing season, yum. Mrs JW loves to go crabbing, even though
she won't eat them.
