Damn ( smacking my head with the palm of my hand), I thought the video was
about promoting those cheap, Chinese made, Greek fishermans hat knockoffs.

I thought the video was very well done.
There isn't an ounce of dialogue, but as an old guy reviews the
happiest and most significant moments in his life it's interesting how
boats, boating, and seamanship were instrumental throughout. Passing
down the hat was particularly touching.

Ummm.... if you look at rec.boat's original charter, I think you'll find
the PURPOSE of this newsgroup is "to promote boating..."

Looks to me like the video is indeed "Absolutely on topic".

(BTW: great video, Chuck!)

I liked Chuck's video, however I'd like to see the "original charter" of
rec.boats that you referenced. I think you will find that rec.boats does
not have a charter.

I used this logic to convince my wife a boat was a good way for the
family to have fun together. Our youngest still loves to invite her
friends up for a day on the lake.

This reminds me - About four years ago when my Paw was dieing of cancer
we got out the old 8mm silent movie projector he had from the 50's. It
was color which was pretty hi-teck for it's day. Well we watched lots of
those old reels. most of them followed us growing up going to different
lakes around Missouri.

His little stailess steel fishing boat. The old 7.5 Evinrude and our
first speed boat, a 1970 trihull made by a company called Beachcraft. It
had a 165 merc. Man he was proud of that boat.

Thanks for bringing that memory back.

Thanks for yet another unprovoked nasty personal remark, Jim.

Watch the video. It might adjust your sour attitude.

Perhaps if you stopped including your asinine little digs with every
other post you make here, you might not get back what you dish out, eh,

If you followed your own advice, you'd post about twice a year.

Here's the funny part....... I never mentioned your name at all. If
you feel that you were being singled out, it could only be as a result
of you self-identifying with the behavior described. Is that the case?

Sort of like somebody taking a whiff and saying "Somebody farted!".
Everybody looks around the room a bit puzzled, except one guy who
stands up angry as hell and says, "You've done worse!" :-)

Did you watch the video, Harry? It might bring back a few memories of
days of yore.

Who said you mentioned my name? You brought that up, Mr. Snark. You're
so overflowing with netcop syndrome, you don't even see you've become
the poster boy of what you don't want.
