What's the price on that thing with 3 outboards? Something north of $500k? Look again, the thing comes with *four* 300hp outboards!- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Yes, it does have an optional rigging of either 3 or 4 outboards. I referenced the three outboard configuration as that is what the speed and range claims are based upon. |

"Chuck Gould" wrote in message oups.com... snip.. Now of course that was years and years ago. The Hatteras owner still lives along the Atlantic seaboard, only a bit farther north. It's no wonder the poor schlump left town, especially after that unfortunate incident where somebody with the exact same name (but not provably the same person) was arrested for exposing his genitals to a school bus filled with little kids. I would have left town too. They don't take too kindly to sexual perverts down in Florida, and if one were to have the unfortunate distinction of sharing the exact same name as somebody suspected of flashing school kids he could wind up just as beat up or lynched as the actual culprit. Wow..after all the talk about improving the newsgroup and how bad it was a year ago, I can't believe you would regurgitate this kind of garbage from the type of posters we had infesting the group. You've just given up any moral right to critize any other posts here. |

The other is a proven liar, for all intents and purposes a non-boater, a poster of septic tank stories and soft porn sites, a political troll, and a *bitter computer geek who likes to flame in a bunch of different newsgroups. We should have very little to say to one another, as apart from both being assholes we don't have anything in common. Aside from the proven fact that you cannot exist without somebody to attack all the time, there's no reason for your posts to so frequently contain greasy little spitwads with my name on them. Well, Chuck "Just Call Me Mr. Spam" Gould, your posts seem to get more tasteless each time you find your keyboard. Non-boater? On what do you base that? Poster of soft porn sites? I don't even know what a "soft porn" site is, Chuck. Is that a site for guys like you who don't appreciate "hard" porn? Computer geek? Moi? Just because I moved up from DOS 1.1 and you still use AOL and GOOGLE groups and I don't? You're the one in attack mode, netcop. I'm just pulling you up by your shorthairs for your hypocrisy. You know, your "My stuff doesn't stink, but yours does" attitude. Soft porn site? Sorry, don't know any. Take a careful look, Harry. Every one of my comments about your dubious presence here or your illustrious past is in *response* to some unprovoked nastiness from you with my name on it. If you're tired of tasteless retorts, stop bringing up my name where it doesn't belong. Take note how another party and I recently resolved this: he hasn't posted any unprovoked flames with my name attached, and I haven't mentioned him by name at all. It really can be that easy, or it can be as tough as you want to make it. If you don't like the content of one of my boating related posts, feel free to say so. You can do that without firing up the flame thrower and making personal remarks. If I don't like the content of one of your poltical trolls, I will feel free to say so as well. If we're intelligent adults, we will restrict our comments to the content rather than speculate on the character of the other party. |

Buy a brand new truck to tow the boat? Come ON..... JR Maybe the guys in the market for used boats like this one? http://tinyurl.com/2gv66f Somehow I just can't quite see that going down the road behind a $2000 beater truck. Not saying it wouldn't or couldn't happen, but I would be surprised to see it done routinely. And, heck yes it's possible to boat really, really, cheaply. Strap a little car-topper upside down over an 88 Honda Accord and head for the beach. When there, row around or hang a 3-5 HP outboard on the back. It doesn't have to be expensive, it's just that most folks prefer something above a minimalist experience. I doubt most guys who buy 28' Gradys trailer them very far, if at all, Dr. Spam. Gradys are pretty popular around here, and that includes the larger ones. Most are slipped at marinas. Some are kept at storage lots adjacent to marinas. You don't need much of a truck to get your boat from the storage lot to the ramp. And if the ramps are decent, you typically do not need a 4X4 as a launch vehicle. As for what "most folks" prefer, I suggest you haven't a clue. Perhaps in the future the commercial boating magazine for which you write will change its name to Northwest Cartopper, and you can regale us with tours of the plastic canoe factory. Harry, you're such a sweetheart. What a neat guy! |
