You want our Shameless Commerce Division, run by Chuck Gould.

This is the number one reason why professionals can not afford to
participate in rec.boats. The personal attacks by a few people, result
in nothing to gain and everything to lose.

John... do you actually think Chuck needs you to be his mommy all the time.
From what I see he can out talk/write almost everyone on this newsgroup.
Where were you when a motley gang was stalking and attacking Basskisser at
every turn. Your net nanny talents were sorley needed then.

Don, you are the only person who believe Basskisser was being stalked or
attacked by anyone.

First, If there is an appropriate place for plugging my auctions, I
aopologize if this is not one of them.
the main antique boat group isn't too eBay promotion friendly either.
Second, as a small business owner, i.e. a regular joe with a real job
and ebay as a hobby, I am only concerned with the positives and
returning customers.
Third, There's nothing wrong with trying to make a few extra bucks.
The more people that view my auctions, the more likely it is to sell,
thus the making of a FEW extra bucks.
No matter where you go, there are going to be unhappy or people that
can't be pleased no matter what the issue is.
if you want to look at my auctions, look, if you don't don't.
If this is an inappropriate place for such posts, fine.
my personal shameless commerce division sells 90% of my merchandise, I
don't need a middleman's shameless commerce division cuttin in for a
percentage.
not enough revenue...
thanks for droppin' names though
Steve

to be honest, I haven't read the "rules" for posting since I started
surfing the web back in the 90s when it strated booming.
Can anyone tell me, Are auction types of posts technically
inappropriate or against proper netiquette?

Don! I'm complimenting your hero! How can you possibly be disgruntled with
that?

You're right, Chuck sure as hell needs no help from me, especially to rebut
someone like Harry.

But, Harry gets picked on by almost everyone here (except for a couple of
you, of course), so he needs some praise every so often. I'm surprised you
don't bestow some praise on him every now and then.

In case you weren't here, when basskisser was being attacked by a motley
crew, I was asking the motley crew to stop. Of course, I wouldn't expect
you to remember any of that!

There are no rules here. This is an unmoderated newsgroup. We have a few
posters here, mainly non-boaters, who come here to be snarky. Chuck, of
the Shameless Commerce Division, is a boater, but sadly has appointed
himself Chief Netnanny. He is ably assisted by non-boaters characters
such as "Reggie," and "Herring." Why they come here is beyond my
understanding.

One of the primary reasons is 'cause we're so enthralled with you, Harry!

Yes..after much prodding you did finally muster a mild repremand to one of
the worst offenders and I thanked you for that.
