Now you've done it.

We try not to let photos like this get into circulation. It's missing
all of the essential "elements" of a true Seattle experience. For
instance, there is supposed to be rain blowing sideways. With that much
snow on the Olympics it's obviously a winter shot, and this
photographer cleverly timed the presence of the ferry boat with the 15
minutes of any given day where a full 4-5 second exposure at 800 ASA
isn't required to get even the most basic sort of image. We have
sub-arctic winter conditions here- dark, cold, wet.....

And where is the wind? Needs to be howling wind and waves crashing over
the auto deck of the ferry......

"Chamber of Commerce" shot if ever there was one.

(Note to world: Don't even think about it. The freeways are completely
full as it is, housing prices are up in the stratosphere, and moorage
is getting tougher to find all the time).

Yeah, but the Christmas Light Boat Parades make it all worth it!

Thanks for the Christmas greetings, and I'm glad to see you survived.

That's not much of an issue... If you wait in line long enough, they'll
open another latte stand right next to your car. I think the number of
stands is approaching a 1:1 ratio with the driving population.

Reminds me of a joke about an announcement Starbucks made a few months
back that they would be doubling their retail space in North America:
The only way they could possibly double their number of locations is by
building directly on top of existing Starbucks locations...

Starbucks believes the Seattle market will be saturated when there is
an espresso stand in each and every livingroom. :-)

Back in 1971 one of my keyboard students had recently relocated to
Seattle from Hawaii. He was involved with opening the original
Starbucks at the Pike Place Market. He offered me a chance to invest,
but I turned him down. Probably the single biggest financial mistake of
my life (and the competition is fierce!). I hate to think what even a
5% share in the original Stabucks would be worth today. :-)

I don't know if it's nationwide, but here Starbucks is going into the
bigger Safeways and Giants, even if another Starbucks is within 100 feet!

Wow. You guys really do have to endure some primitive living conditions
back there, don't you? Can you imagine having to walk 100-feet to get
to the next Starbucks? :-)

in the metro areas, you sure don't give people directions using
Starbucks as a land mark.
