That would be a serious limitation indeed.

But a lot of boaters in the midwest, up around the Great Lakes, and
owners of small runabouts will never see sal****er. (We have posts here
every so often: "After all these years I'm about to put my boat into
sal****er, what special precautions must I take?")

It might be interesting to know if the salt content screws up the radio
transmission or if it interferes with the initial activation of the
sensor.
